Hridaya Roga - Karana and Nivarana

Purity of the apana is very closely connected with the pranadhara. It is exactly for this reason that the mantras are devised in yoga for the prevention of the heart disease. That key mantra is lam.

By its rhythmic recitation, the heart disease is cured. It is the supreme remedy to solve the problem of the heart disease. The body is said to be composed of the five elements of Nature. This key-mantra pertains to the earth element, which becomes active with the recitation of lam.

The place of the earth element is the apana, which is the place of the shakti-kendra. [Centre of the energy.]The connection of the apana with the prana cannot be explained by any principle of diagnosis. But after knowing about the functions of the prana and the apana, the recitation of lam appears to be very important. Some people experimented with the recitation of lam in the context of the heart disease and it yielded the favourable result. This is done along with the recitation of the mantra as well. The recitation of lam has its reaction on the heart region and it also provides health.

In the Jain mantra theory, the mantra

hraang, hring, hoong, hroong, hrang, hrah

is believed to be very effective.

This mantra was used in the case of the heart patients whose lungs were weak. Those patients benefited a great deal. It can be asked what brought them that benefit. It happened because that mantra restores the person's energy and results in the prevention of any obstacle. The results of this mantra can be discussed on the basis of the science of the sound and the science of mantra. This is a useful mantra for the heart disease, which has been proved by the experience of a large number of people.
