Preksa Dhyana - Theory And Practice: [06.42] Benefits - Mediation Of Sukla Lesya - Attainment of Wisdom

Published: 03.07.2007

The third benefit is attainment of wisdom - viveka cetana. A practitioner, on attaining wisdom develops a faculty of discernment. He acquires the ability to distinguish between

  1. the whey and the butter
  2. the oil and the oil-cake
  3. the body and the soul
  4. the conscious and the material
  5. the transient and the eternal

By an actual experience, he knows the separate existence of the soul independent of the body. This benefit is a great achievement indeed.
