Samani Charitra Pragya

Mr. K. C. Goyal of Merchants Chamber of Commerce introduced Samani Charitra Pragyaji to the audience by reporting on the intensive training in techniques of Preksha Meditation she had undergone, accompanied by exploration of the self and training in non-violence, before she became Samani in 1990. Mr. Goyal pointed out that Samaniji is deeply devoted to pursuit of spirituality, and since 19 years travels overseas, untiringly spreading the message of non-violence and peace, meditation and character building, organizing Preksha Meditation Camps, giving lectures in American and British universities as well as in other institutions, and currently is visiting professor at Florida International University Miami, Florida, USA, for a course on ‘Jainism and non-violence’.

Samaniji in her lecture captivated the audience of eminent personnel from industry and trade, explicating that success is not a destination, but the path of long journey. She explained the difference between material success and success in leading a meaningful life. One can think oneself successful when certain personal wishes are fulfilled, but success in leading a meaningful life means keeping on with energetic and enthusiastic activities, while undertaking the journey of life.

Samani Charitra Pragyaji suggested a few secrets that will guide one towards the path of success:

  • Mindful action

while performing any action, mind and body should be at one place. With absence of mind, physical exertion would be worthless. The symphony of mind and body brings optimistic outcome in short duration. Mind is a powerful tool and if utilized and canalized in a proper way, unbelievable results can be achieved.

  • Action without reaction

Our mind easily gets agitated in unfavorable situations and circumstances, and because of that, we mostly react immediately under the influence of negative emotions and dance in tune with others. When we want to be the master of actions, we should instead consciously decide how to act according to the situation.

  • Setting a goal

Setting a goal is very important for success. If we have a road map, we can reach your destination. When we keep our goal always in front of our mind, we are motivated to work hard, which definitely results in achieving our goal in short period with complete success.

  • When we visualize, we materialize

Power of visualization has a tremendous effect on our mind and brain. People do not forget visual images as easily as words and script. Visualise yourself achieving that particular goal. The more clear the visual, the sooner it is going to happen.

  • Time Management

Time is very precious, it is utilized in each and every moment of our life. We are never going to get back the lost time. Those who manage well their time are never going to be short of it. It is advisable to stay away from time robbers like unnecessary talks, either on mobiles or directly, chatting in the internet, watching TV shows etc. When we prioritize our work and are disciplined in our daily routine, we will finish our work in time and do not have to postpone it for tomorrow. Present is more important than past or future.

  • Correction, and not creation of problems

Whenever problems occur, we should try to understand their cause and find solutions in discussions with our colleagues and staff.

  • Taking decisions when mind is at peace

We should not jump to the conclusion. Those who are restless or stressed out should relax with long breath, cool down their mind and think deeply about outcome and consequences of any decision. Decisions taken with relaxed mind are perfect keys to success. Anxiety triggers negative feelings, and emotions distort the capacity of mind, which then navigates towards more problems.

  • Friend, not boss

Interaction with staff and clients should be like interaction with a friend. Behavior should not be boss like. Friendship helps to built a strong relationship, whereas bossy nature will create a distance.

  • Acceptance of reality & challenges

Comparison and competition make our life miserable and painful. Obviously humans make mistakes; from every mistake a lesson in moving towards success can be learned. Challenges should be accepted. When we use our brainpower and work hard to overcome challenges, we definitely will gain.

  • Inner happiness is the fuel of success

Without inner happiness, external success will take us nowhere. Satisfaction and contentment are the virtues improving the quality of life. Money is not everything; it is needed to have a comfortable, pleasurable life. Too much time and energy spent for becoming millionaire, exhausts a person, and creates unhappiness and sadness. To overcome this situation, possession and consumption should be eco-friendly and limited.

Samaniji Charitra Pragyaji sprinkled her lecture with enjoyable stories of successful people, and the audience acclaimed her lecture with rising hands while saying Om Arham, once she finished her lecture. Mr. S. K. Choraria gave a vote of thanks.

Dr. Samani Chaitanya Pragya
