The Non-violence Walk and Peace Rally, led by Acharya Shree Mahashraman, concluded at Bal Mandir in Kathmandu yesterday.
Vice President Parmananda Jha was invited as the chief guest in the rally. Around 8,000 followers, including Hindus and Buddhists, had participated in the rally that began from Khula Manch.
Acharya Shree Mahashraman was greeted with Shovayatra, traditional and ceremonial music at the rally. He arrived in Kathmandu on March 31 from Birgunj. He was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Prakash Man Singh.
He had walked along Hetauda, Daman, Palung, Naubise, Thankot and many other places for around 18 days before arriving in the Valley. He will be staying in Bal Mandir for about a month and then resume his travel to other destinations.
He is scheduled to deliver a sermon in Bal Mandir from 9:30 am every day, during his stay. Acharya Shree Mahashraman has so far completed over 30,000 kilometres of ‘Non-violence Walk’. Of them, 10,000 kilometre was with his teacher Acharya Shree Mahapragya. According to the organisers, he lives in pure spirit and people can feel kindness and humanity in his works.
“Acharya Shree Mahashraman is with us today to guide us to our moral responsibilities and beliefs,” they said.
