                                   "SIX ESSENTIALS"  (છ આવશ્યક) Shibir

Parmatma Mahavir Bhagwan with utmost compassion for all living beings, has shown the Path of Purification of the SOUL. Everyone can attain Infinite Happiness and Infinite Bliss by ending all kinds of sufferings. He laid down two sets of Paths - one for the Mendicant (Sadhu/Sadhvi) and the other for the Householder (Gruhastha).

We as Householders who want to follow that Path should, first of all, have proper & correct knowledge of that Path. Therefore, not only should we find out what the Path is, but also understand how to follow that Path. That is the way to achieve TRUE HAPPINESS & BLISS in our daily life as well as attain the ultimate GOAL.

We have arranged a 2 Day Shibir in August, 2015 (Sat/Sun-8/9) to explore, investigate, apply and ultimately imbibe in our day to day life those six essentials (Commands of Bhagwan Mahavir for us).

Please join us for an experience of Enlightenment. You will not be disappointed!!!

Wellness Challenge: Be Active For Atleast 15-20 Minutes Everyday

For the upcoming weekly challenge we are challenging participants to "be active for at least 15 to 30 minutes every day.” Regular physical activity can produce long term health benefits. People of all ages, shapes, sizes, and abilities can benefit from being physically active. The more physical activity you do, the greater the health benefits. Physical activity and nutrition work together for better health. Being active increases the amount of calories burned. As people age their metabolism slows, so maintaining energy balance requires moving more and eating less. For more information and to participate in the challenge, click here.

What:
Seminar for NRI’s who have Declared & Undeclared assets in India
When: 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm, Saturday July 18th
Where: Jain Center of Southern California (Upstairs Classroom)

Subject and Speaker Profile:

INDIA SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH USA TO PROVIDE INFORMATION OF INDIAN INCOME AND ASSETS

On July 9th, 2015 the Government of India signed an Inter-Governmental Agreement with USA which makes it compulsory for all Indian Banks, Mutual Funds, Insurance Cos., Brokerages etc. to report accounts of USA citizens and USA residents to IRS.

As per the US laws, US Citizen and Green Cardholders are required to report their worldwide income, including Indian income on their Federal tax return and pay tax thereon; and also file Foreign Bank Account Reports (FBAR) if the financial balances exceeded US$ 10,000 in any day of the year. This info will create issues for NRIs who have failed to disclose Indian income or file FBAR returns.

While recognizing many possibilities of ignorance or negligence on part of the tax payers, US Tax Authorities have offered Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures (SFCP). It is a very liberal declaration option of disclosing all the Undisclosed Indian income and assets for only 5% penalty of the highest year-end financial balances over previous 6 years, revision of previous 3 years of Fed tax returns and filing of FBAR returns for the last 6 years together with Personal Declaration of Non Willful Conduct.

Rajesh H Dhruva, C.A., from India is once again amongst us to explain those rules, possible remedies and Forex & Tax laws of India.

RAJESH H DHRUVA is a chartered accountant & NRI counselor advising NRIs for 26 years on Foreign Exchange & Tax laws in India. He is a Mutual Fund Advisor & a Consultant for compliance of USA tax laws related to Indian Income & assets.

Valuable information, found on his two prominent websites, www.nribanks.com & www.femaonline.com, are geared specifically towards NRI’s. He is an author of “Facilities for NRIs” a handy booklet that has been published by State Bank of India for the past nine (9) consecutive years. Mr. Dhruv has made successful representations to Finance Ministry & Reserve Bank of India in regards to many anomalies in the laws for Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and addressed numerous NRI seminars in East Africa, Middle East, UK and USA.

NOTE: Nothing will be sold during the seminar.
