Jai Jinendra.
Nature is wonderful and has been resilient for many centuries and millennia. However, in the last few decades the impact of human activities, in particular, has proved a challenge to Nature. Trees are an integral part of our environment - they provide us with oxygen, food and shade and shelter from the elements.
Acharya Chandanaji values trees immensely and has said that everyone should plant at least 10 trees during their lifetime! This is your chance to do so and replenish Nature.
SCVP has arranged for a morning of tree planting activity in conjunction with the Woodland Trust at Heartwood Forest on 12 March. As the UK's largest woodland conservation charity, the Woodland Trust are the leading voice for woods and trees. They campaign to protect precious ancient woods, restore the ones that are damaged and fight for those under threat. They create new native woodland around the UK with the help of communities, schools, organisations and individuals. England’s largest new native forest, Heartwood Forest is a large-scale reforestation project that will see 600,000 new trees planted over 858 acres in the next 12 years.
Come and take part in this activity where you will be given the opportunity to plant trees by the Woodland Trust. All are welcome and you can bring family and friends.
There is no charge for the activity but feel free to support the work of the Woodland Trust if you like what they are doing. Details of timings, what to wear and where to meet are set out in the attached flyer.
We look forward to seeing you there.
