The 7th day of the Paryushan Parva is celebrated as Dhyan Divas (Meditation Day). Sadhvis presented a melodious Geet dedicated to Preksha Dhyan.
His Holiness Acharya Mahashraman preached in today's Prime Sermon that, Lay followers should pay attention that, it is a must to keep Upavas tomorrow. It is very important for us. So it should not be left out of exceptional conditions. Children who are 8 - 10 years old should also be inspired for keeping the fast on the day of Samvatsari. And Paushadha should also be practiced with Upavas as it is like the ornament of Upavas just as you layman wear materialistic ornaments on your body. So, if we take Upavas as body then Ashta Prahari (24 hours of the day divided into 8 parts) Paushadha is the ornament of it. If someone is unable to keep Ashta Prahari Paushadha then he can accept Chhah Prahari (for 6 parts of the day out of 8 parts) Paushadha. One can also practice Char Prahari (for 4 parts of the day out of 8 parts, i.e. in night or in the day only)
