        Shibir on MokshMala - Jun 24 - 25, 2017

The spiritual guide of Mahatma Gandhi and Bhagwan Shree Mahavir Swami’s pupil, Shrimad Rajchandra  wrote the "MokshaMala", a scripture-like short treatise which can be understood by young & old alike.  Shrimadji wrote this at the age of 16, in the unbelievable short span of only 3 days.

It consists of 108 Lessons written in simple Gujarati, each less than a page. It encompasses all four styles (Anuyog) of Jineshwar Bhagwan.  Almost a fourth of them are short popular stories including Bhagwan Mahavir, Gautam Swami, King Shrenik, Abhayakumar, Bahubali, Gajsukumar, Sudarshan Sheth, Anathi Muni, Kapil Muni, Kamdev Shravak, Sanatkumar Chakravarti and others.

In the "MokshaMala", there is meaningful preaching of Tirthankars to make our life spiritual, noble, uplifting and soul-centered.  The essence of Jainism is taught here.  The inspiring stories in "MokshaMala" can help the reader imbibe the preaching of Mahavir Swami.  The nectar of fundamental Jain Path in MokshaMala will make the readers experience the religious awakening in their heart & soul.  It combines knowledge & its implementation through daily practice, ultimately leading to liberation.

On the auspicious occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Shrimad Rajchandraji, let us study and elevate our soul.  This is the main goal.  To help in this regard, “Shrimad Rajchandra Nijabhyas Mandap and Vihar Bhavan Trust” in Ahmedabad, India has organized a short open book exam at home to inspire the aspirants.  The simple exam paper consists of multiple choice, fill in the blanks, matching columns and short 2-3 line answers.  The exam can be in Gujarati, English or Hindi.  The MokshaMala in Gujarati & English, as well as the Question-Answer Paper in all 3 languages are on line at the Trust Website

The Trust is offering hundreds of prizes as outlined on their website.  www.shrimadrajchandratrust.org

To facilitate the study of MokshaMala, a Shibir is organized during the weekend of June 24-25 at our Jain Center in the Aradhna Hall. The Shibir program is:

        Saturday 6/24,      10:00 AM to 12:00 PM          Session 1

        1:00 PM to 3:00 PM              Session 2
3:00 PM to 3:30 PM              Tea break
        3:30 PM to 5:30 PM              Session 3

        Sunday 6/25          10:00 AM to 12:00 PM          Session 4
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM             Light lunch
        1:00 PM to 3:00 PM               Session 5

        3:30 PM to 5:30 PM               Session 6

Although the Shibir will be conducted in Gujarati (by Mahendrabhai Khandhar), youngsters are welcome to attend and ask questions in English during the Shibir or during the break.Their questions will be responded to in English.  It is also expected that several learned lecturers (Swadhyaykars) from our Jain Center will actively participate.
