 Swadhyay by  Samanijis

9.15.2017 Friday............8.30pm to 10.00pm

"Self Realization by Swadhyay" by Samani Sudhannidhiji followed by "Compassionate living through Jain way of Living" by Samani Dr. Suyashnidhiji

Compassion plays a crucial role for the attainment of human birth and it is one of the characteristics in the attainment of Right Faith (Samyaktva). As Jain Way of Living highlights more on non-violence, this session brings in a greater understanding as to how a householder can practice the principles laid down by the Tirthankars in day to day life. This in turn will help a person understand him Self. Swadhyay is the study of the Self and leads to Self realization. Understanding the concept of Soul and body consciousness is the core aspect of the lecture. Both the sessions would facilitate the progress of spiritual journey.

9.16.2017 Saturday.............10.00am to 12 noon

Wellness Challenge - Cut Back On Salt

For the upcoming weekly challenge, we are challenging the participants to “Cut Back On Salt." A low sodium diet can have great health benefits. Sodium is necessary in your diet.  However, too much sodium can affect various body systems.   Your heart, kidneys, and essentially, all of your body systems can be healthier if you follow a low sodium diet. Reducing your intake of sodium, or salt, helps to reduce blood pressure and helps to prevent swelling of the extremities, such as your legs. Also, you may lower your risk of heart disease by limiting your salt intake.   If you are interested in learning more and participating, click here.

2.PETITION: (NEPAL) Save the Goats of Khokana - PLEASE SIGN AND SHARE

PLEASE SIGN, CIRCULATE AS WIDELY AS POSSIBLE, PUT ON FACEBOOK, TWITTER, SOCIAL MEDIA ETC. AND SHARE
Please show your support and help to save the lives of Khokana Goats that are Brutally torn apart by many Men, who Ferociously use their bare hands and teeth during a Yearly Festival in Khokana.
The Khokana Festival in Nepal is held annually in August. During the festival a young female goat is thrown into a pond where a group of young men attack, bite and tear the goat apart while it is still alive. The man who is judged to have eventually killed the goat is named a "hero" and leads a dance procession which follows.
