His Holiness Acharya Mahashraman preached in today's Prime Sermon about the God who can make us cross over the earthly concern.
His Holiness explained this with a story - Once upon a time there was a mother and son. Mother was very religious and a great believer in worshipping iconic God. She used to visit temple everyday. Son was little revolutionary and educated. He did not like to visit temple.
Mother used to tell him again and again - Son I always go to temple, sometimes you should also come with me. Our God is there in the temple so you should worship him. Son used to move away the matter with a smile. One day mother insisted him very much to visit temple.
Son agreed to visit and said- okey mother you are insisting me this much so today I am coming with you to visit temple.
Mother and son both moved towards temple. They reached at the starting point of temple compound. A statue of a cow was situated there.
Son said - Mother! I am feeling hungry so please give me some milk to drink by milking this cow.
Mother said - O my son! You are so innocent. This cow is made up of stone. A stone cow does not give milk.
Son replied - Oh it is. Okay I come to know that stone cow does not give milk.
They moved little ahead. Now a lion made up of stone was situated there. Son got afraid by seeing the lion and shouted afraid of him - O mother! Lion... Lion!
Mother said - why are you getting afraid?
He said - Look mother it is lion. It will eat me.
Mother said - O my innocent son! This is a stone lion. It does not eat. This is made up of stone not real.
Son relaxed and said - okay it is. This stone lion cannot eat. Let us move ahead mother.
And they started walking. Now they reached at the temple where the statue of God was situated. Mother started bow down before the statue. She told the son for the same - Son! Bow down before the God. He is our God and the one who will let us to cross over the earthly concern.
Son asked - Mother! This God is made up of stone or real?
Mother insisted him to bow down before the statue. Now this was son's turn.
He said- Mother! Listen to me. If a cow made up of stone cannot give milk, a lion made up of stone cannot eat me then how come a God made up of stone will let me cross over the earthly concern?
Son said great words so mother got agree with him and said- Son! You are absolutely right. When a stone cow cannot give milk, a stone lion cannot eat us then it is obvious that a stone God cannot cross over us from the earthly concern.
