Yoga A New Life Style: Importance of Yogasanas

According to Dr. Kuksak, we possess a treasure trove in our bodies called the endocrine glands. These glands are instrumental in the development of not only our mind and personality but also the life we live. Yogic exercises influence not only the gross physical body but also regulate and influence the mysterious doings and the innumerable invisible activities of the subtle subconscious mind. Practice of Asanas, Pranayam, Bandha, Shatkarma, Meditation, Kayotsarg and similar yogic activities influence the energy centres of body. There is no other exercise technique in the whole world that can challenge its effectiveness. A special mention needs to be made of the fact that no other activity can influence the endocrine system to the extent yogic activity can. There are thousands of centres present in human body, which directly influence the physical and mental health called the 'Reflex Spot Zones'. Energy is controlled and directed towards the life force (Divine Energy) through these centres. Apart from this function, these zones are connected to other body systems. Through practice of various asanas, these zones get activated and they relieve body systems of all toxicity. It is these zones which regulate the biological processes, nervous system as well as the electromagnetic energy in our body and support the maintenance of a healthy and strong body.
