The Support Of Faith: 02 ►The Sun comes to Us Everyday

Published: 21.01.2020

Men have two types of temperament—man-like and demon-like. The demon-like temperament is characterized by selfishness. It does not recognize altruism. It has no relation with humanity. It establishes its authority with the help of injustice, exploitation, and persecution. It does not pay heed to the call of morality and continues with its growing pace. This temperament takes its toll on humanity. It overpowers human virtues and degrades it to a level of demon-like life. Problems that this world is facing today are largely because of such temperament.

Man-like temperament has direct relation with humanity as a whole. Truth and justice are the basic elements of such temperament. So long this divine temperament reigns, selfishness cannot flourish. Vices like violence, tyranny, cruelty, untouchability and intolerance cannot grow under the auspicious shadow of human temperament. It enriches humanity with virtues like contentment, cohesiveness (परस्परता), Asangraha, non-attachment, authenticity and assures it of bright future. This temperament restrains the nations with destructive power from going mad. The day when this sense of restraint will go, no force would be able to save the world from complete disaster.

The conflict between man-like and demon-like temperament has been going on since time immemorial. The conflicting agents may change, style of conflict may vary, causes of this conflict may not remain the same, but it is doubtful whether this conflict would cease to exist someday. In which period of human civilization did this conflict not take place? At one point of time place of this conflict increases and at other place decreases. If at one place; man-like temperament wins, at other place the demon-like temperament wins.

Reinforcing man-like temperament is the objective of Anuvrat Anuvrat was launched just after India won freedom. It made its progress in its own way faster sometime and slower sometime. It touched lives of lakhs and lakhs of people. Thousands of people were influenced by it. Hundreds of people joined it. People ask— what did Anuvrat do in course of its four decade long journey? Whether it could cause slightest decline in corrupt practices? Whether it could make people aware of human values?

The Sun rises and dispels darkness every morning. It gives tremendous brightness. Nevertheless, has it been able to eliminate the existence of darkness? The Sun is not bothered with these considerations and has been doing its duty. Anuvrat does not promise to root out corruption from the world. It gives the message of virtue and shall continue to do so until the sun is engaged in its eternal duty of dispelling darkness.
