Alexander von Rospatt is Professor of Buddhist and South Asian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. After his studies at SOAS (BA) and the University of Hamburg (MA, PhD) he first taught at the universities of Leipzig, Vienna and Oxford. His work focuses on the Indic Mahāyāna tradition surviving in the Kathmandu Valley, and the doctrinal history of Buddhism.
