Paarshwanaath
Paarshwanaath is the twenty third Tirthankar of the Jain tradition. People hold Parshwanath in high esteem. They worship him with great fervour. Along with him, Dbaranendra and Padmavati are also worshipped. Padmavati and Dbaranendra were in the cobra cycle of life in their past life.
Once there was a hermit whose name was Kamath.He was doing Panchagni tap. Everyone had come to watch him. Prince Paras who had ESP had also come. Since the prince had ESP he saw that inside one of the logs there were two snakes burning.
The prince said in a loud voice that this is violence not a religious activity.
Hearing this Kamath also got angry and asked for an explanation. "Give me proof," he said. The prince told his guards to cut the log.
They did and two half burned snakes crawled out. So the hermit got very angry. As soon as the snakes came out, the prince recited the Namaskar mahamantra and they died. After they died they became god and goddess Dbaranendra and Padmavati.
It can be rightly said when a person lacks knowledge between right and wrong. He or she will never see reason and light. It is very difficult to lead an obstinate person.
