The damage done by meat calls louder and louder for a response, and more people the world over are responding.
A great example is the city of Ghent, Belgium. From May, 2009, government staff and elected officials will go veg once a week and from Sep, schools will follow suit. The goal is to protect the environment and to guard against obesity.
Thursday Meatout campaign, with Ghent the first city in the world to officially stimulate a vegetarian day, has received worldwide attention in the press, from BBC to the Guardian to CNN.
