Every year, Acharya Shri Mahapragya ji has blessed Sacramento Jain Samaj by Samanijis. Our Jain community can not thank enough for his blessings. This year was not an exception even though Samanijis went through lot of issues related to visa but at last Samaniji were here to celebrate Parushan and flourished all of us with their insightful lectures and knowledge. Here we all were benefited very much with their spiritual preaching.

This year, Samani Pratibha Pragya & Samani Ritu Pragya jis came only for 10 days. They never been to Sacramento but whoever met with them wondering that they knew Samaniji since long because of the warmth they got from them. Jain Center of Greater Sacramento’s Paryushan 2009 was celebrated in style and all credit goes to Samaniji that because of their hard work and dedication Sacramento Jain Samaj get closer to the principle of Jainism.

The First day when they landed in Sacramento, they forgot about their jet leg instead planned how Sacramento Jain Samaj would like to celebrate Parushan. Following were the topics delivered in Hindi as well as in English.

  • PARYUSHAN: A CELEBRATION TO REKINDLE INNER LIGHT
  • HOW TO CONTROL EGO
  • HOW TO HANDLE ANGER
  • HOW TO IMPROVE WILL-POWER
  • DREAM AND REALITY
  • NON-VIOLENT COMMUNICATION
  • ART OF ENLIGHTENMENT
  • SAMVATSARI: A SPIRITUAL PLANNING

During their short stay, every day Samanijis gave lectures to Jain Samaj. The evening program was held from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. The program began with Pratikraman and was followed by lectures in Hindi, English and Gujrati. Our members took advantage of their insightful lectures and garner dham labh. Even though Samanijis had a hectic schedule, they  performed Raksha mantra at all the houses they stayed and as well as who requested them to bless their house. They did not turn down any one’s request.

The programme on the last day (Samvastsari) started at 8:30am and continued till 8:30pm. This was the first time we were doing the “Paushad”, we had 12 hours back to back activities. We were little hesitant in the beginning but because of Samanijis’ encouragement and leadership we did it. It was a once in a life time opportunity for us, a lot of members did the fasting and every one appreciate their effort. Now members are more committed to do it next year also.

Every evening, Samaniji conducted workshop for kids. Kids also enjoyed the daily activities. They also directed the skit for Kids and as well as for ladies. The kids learned a lot from skit and daily lectures by Samanijis, now all are looking forward to learn more from Samanijis next year.

Sacramento Jain Samaj requested Samaniji that next year they will come early so Kids and members can learn more. Samani Pratibha pragya ji promised that they will request on behalf of Sacramento Jain Samaj and ask management to send Samaniji early next year.

This year Paryushan celeberation was a big success and well received by all the members. Samani Pratibha & Ritu Pragyajis set the precedent which we will try to meet in coming years. Sacramento Jain Samaj is anxiously looking forward to see Samanijis next year.
