On 19th November 2005, Dr. Chris Hewer, an advisor on Inter-Faith Relation to the Bishop of Birmingham, UK, has been convening a group of people occupied with questions of ecology, environment, and sustainability from the standpoint of different faiths. The International Mahavir Jain Mission of Birmingham U.K. held its first conference on Jainism on 13th march 2004 for the Interfaith Group of Birmingham. This conference was organised by Arvinder Jain at the request of Dr. Chris Hewer, who is adviser to the Bishop of Birmingham.
