About the Speaker

Prof. Prashant R. Dave taught Philosophy for 38 years at under-graduate and post-graduate levels. He has participated in a number of National and International Seminars and presented papers, like, Zen Buddhism - a micro-level strategy for peace, In search of a paradigm in social sciences, Gandhiji and Foucault, Gayatri Chakravarti Spivak's approach to comparative literature. He has also delivered a keynote address on Questioning Social Science at the National Seminar on 'Science Methodology' at the Centre for Social Studies in Surat.
He has translated in Gujarati Rajarshee Muni's book Awakening Life Force. Now-a-days he is involved in the Gujarati translation of Sivaya Subramuniya Swami's Trilogy - Dancing with Shiva, Living with Shiva, Merging with Shiva.

At present he is working at L. D. Institute of Indology as an Honorary Professor of Philosophy. His areas of interests are - Indian and Western Philosophy, Western Aesthetics and Philosophy of language. He is also interested in the Philosophical thoughts of Foucault, Habermas and Gadamar.
