Coronation Ceremony of H.H. Acharya Mahashraman
Sardarshahar May 22, 2010Grandeur Coronation Ceremony of the 11th Acharya of Terapanth sect will be held in the heart of Gandhi Vidya Mandir on May 23rd at 8.30 A.M. His Holiness Mahashraman will undertake the oath ceremony of this dignified Acharya's position with the magical spell of auspicious mantra, mesmerizing songs according to the grand tradition of Terapanth Sect.
This news was received from Muni Jayant Kumar that the present elder most monk Muni Sumermal Sudarshan will honour the Acharya Mahashraman with the auspicious shawl (In Terapanth sect while designating successor Acharya bestow a special; chaadar, the symbol of responsibility) on behalf of the whole Terapanth sect, Jain religion and above all the whole humanity. Along with this Sadhvi Pramukhaji, Mukhya Niyojikaji and the entire Dharmasangh (congregation) will congratulate and glorify Present Guru.
On this heightened occasion Sadhvi Pramukha ji will gift celebrated Acharya with ‘Rajoharan and Pramarjani', a most significant symbol of core Non-violence and an unseparable part of monk life.
In the history of Terapanth sect Acharya Mahashraman is the 1st Acharya who was born and initiated in Sardarshahar and now is ready to accept this highest post of Acharya in his own birth place.
It is well known that Acharya Mahashraman has inherited Acharya Bhikshu's dedication towards Jain doctrines and embraces his deligence, Acharya Bharimal's complete dedication towards his Guru, Acharya Rishiray's elegance, Acharya Jeetmal's spirit of spiritual studies, Acharya Maghava's straight forwardness, Acharya Manak's detached attitude, Acharya Dalgani's radiant personality, Acharya Kalugani's passion towards education, Acharya Tulsi' foresightedness and Acharya Mahapragya's intuitiveness.
While explaining the uniqueness of Terapanth sect Muni Jayant kumar told that the tradition of one Guru and authoritative constitution written by Acharya Bhikshu have been carried out since 250 years by each successor. Uptill now Terapanth sect has been blessed with the leadership of 10 Acharyas respectively.
Following the traditional practice of selection rather than election Acharya Mahapragya designated Mahashraman Muni Mudit Kumar as his successor in 1997 in Gangashahar in the presence of hundreds and thousands of lay people.
Now after the demise of Acharya Mahapragya, on behalf of the entire sect, Muni Sumermal Sudarshan has officially declared Yuvacharya Mahashraman as Acharya Mahashraman.
We have observed extraordinary coincidences successively occurring in Acharya Mahashraman's life in every 12 years. At the age of 12 he took initiation, after 12 years of monkhood he became interior helper of Acharya Mahapragya. At the age of 36 he was selected as Yuvacharya (Successor) of Acharya Mahapragya and today at the age of completion of 48 he will glorify the highest post of Acharya with full reverance.
Added to the above a monk Muni Sumermal Ladnun initiated this great monk into monkhood and now the same name but a different person, Muni Sumermal Sudarshan will coronate him as the Acharya honour him with the auspicious shawl of responsibility and leadership of Terapanth Sect.
This is the 2nd coronation ceremony in Sardarshahar in Terapanth history. The first one of Acharya Manakgani was witnessed by thousands of lay people and on 23rd May, history will repeat the second coronation ceremony of Acharya Mahashraman on the land of Sardsarshahar with the same initial alphabet ‘M'.
When we perceive Acharya Mahashraman's life we see ‘May' month has become special that brought many achievements in his life. Acharya Mahashraman's birth date is 13th May, initation date is 5th May, on 13th May he was appointed for the service of Acharya Tulsi, 14th May he became a group leader and now on 23rd May we all will witness the historical ceremony of Acharya Mahashraman's Acharya Padabhisheck (Coronation Ceremony)
Similarly Vaishakh month of Hindi Calendar has become special for Acharya Mahashraman in creating grand history of birth, initation, group leader and religious leader of the whole congregation.
