The Department of Religious Studies Punjabi University Patiala organised Acharya Tulsi Memorial Lecture on 14 March 2011 at 2.00 p.m. in University Senate Hall.

Samani Charitra Pragya Vice-Chancellor, Jain Vishwa Bharati University, delivered the lecture on the theme “Acharya Tulsi’s Contribution to Academic World.” DR. Jaspal Singh, Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala presided over the Lecture Programme. Samani Ji highlighted to those human values on which Acharya Tulsi had laid emphasis over his life. She focused over the nonviolence, value education and science of living without which the proper sustenance of life is impossible.

In his presidential remarks Dr. Jaspal Singh commemorated to Acharya Tulsi’s contribution to Saint Harchnd Singh Longowal and Rajiv Gandhi compromise which plaid kea role in bringing peace in Punjab.

On this occasion the book “Jainism in Punjab” written by Dr. Pradyumna Shah Singh got released. The Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh gave copies of book “Jainism in Punjab” as token of honour to Shri Ravindra Jain (Malerkotala) and Purushottam Jain (Mandigobind Garh). Dr. Harpal Singh Pannu, Head of the Department delivered welcome address. Dr.  Pradyumna Shah Singh Coordinator of the programme spoke over Acharya Tulsi. Former Head of the Department Professor Bhaswati Sinha presented vote of thank.
