Guidelines for Contributors

Dear Colleague,

Tulsī Prajñā, a Bi-lingual Research Journal (ISSN 0974-8857) of Jain Vishva Bharati University is published for four decades. It is published quarterly in March, June, September and December. The Journal is being upgraded as a Peer Reviewed Journal from the September 2011 Issue. Therefore, all contributions will be submitted to referees (specialists in respective fields) for expert evaluation. Articles based on discovery of new facts or new interpretations of or relationship between already discovered facts will be welcomed.

  1. Tulsī Prajñā mainly focuses on Indological subjects, covering the areas, such as, Language, Literature, History, Philosophy (all traditions and schools), Arts, Discourse analysis and so on.
  2. Editor reserves the right to make final alterations in the text, on linguistic and stylistic grounds, so that the entry conforms to the uniform standard required for the journal.
  3. All scripts should be in duplicate with soft copy and typed double-spaced, including quotations, notes and references etc.
  4. Soft copy should be in Page-Maker format with necessary diacritical marks and the Times-Norman script should be used in English articles. For the articles written in Devanāgarī script, Shree Lipi/Kruti-Dev should be used.
  5. Quotation is expected to be identical verbatim et litteratum with the original; To indicate ellipsis three single dots are to be used; Long quotations consisting of five or more lines do not need inverted commas.
  6. Contributors must provide their complete mailing addresses and email address along with their articles.
  7. Length of the article may be restricted between 4000 and 6000 words.
  8. Concise Oxford Dictionary or Oxford advanced Dictionary (latest edition) should be followed in spelling, punctuation and hyphenation. Where two spellings exist, British style should be accepted and not the American; for example, 'programme' and not 'program' and 'colour', not 'color' etc.
  9. References and notes should be numbered consecutively throughout the article and typed on a separate page at the end.
  10. References are to be given generally in the order - the name or initials of the author followed by surname, the title of the work (in italics), the publisher, the place of publication and the page number/s for

    • Edited Volumes
    • Articles in Books
    • Articles in Edited Volumes
    • Articles in Journals
    • Articles in Web pages
  11. Book Reviews must contain name of author/editor, place of publication and publisher, year of publication, number of pages and price.
