SCVP has now been performing Pratikraman with English translations for the last 5 days at Kingsbury High School.
It has been a profound experience for those who have attended as the explanations given at each stage of the Pratikraman, covering the 6 essentials, has been conveyed in a clear, lucid and understandable manner. Attendance has averaged 50 - 60 people, with many children attending regularly and participating fully in the Pratikraman and learning the importance and process of forgiveness. Each day the attendees take a vow chosen by a child and the following day both children and adults give feedback on their experience in observing their vow. To date the vows taken have included appreciating the good qualities of others, to think before you speak and not to lie (or even think about lying!).
'The blend of reciting sutras in original language and in English really hits a chord as we can see the deep meanings behind each sutra which we were never aware of before' - From an Adult
