A New Dawn in the Service to Humanity through Nationwide Mega Blood Donation Drive by Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad

"With the three point objectives of inculcating the Moral and Social values among the youths of the Society, Service to the Humanity and Development of Youths and thus building the Nation, Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad organized a Mega Blood Donation Drive throughout the nation on 17th September, 2012 and created a History, breaking not only the National but International records as well by collecting as much as approx 97,000 Units of Blood by establishing 651 Centres covering nearly 276 villages, Towns & Cities", said Sanjay Khater, the President of Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad.

President, Sanjay Khater gave his whole hearted thanks to the citizens of India for making this task of Service to Humanity a success. The efforts of the youths associated with ABTYP and many others have surely turned the dream into reality and this in turn has given a renewed energy and vigour to the youths in developing a healthy society and a developed nation. His Excellency, the President of India, Sri Pranav Mukherjee extended their whole hearted support to this drive which boosted the morale of the youths. The drive got support of people from all walks of life including Spiritual Gurus, Politicians, Sportspersons, Artists, Bureaucrats and last but not the least, the common mass. "The various Transport services throughout the country including Central Railway, Western Railway, Harbour Railway, Kolkata Tram Service, Mumbai's bus service BEST have given us the support in reaching the common masses for this humanitarian cause. The Media fraternity's support took this drive to Millions. Several Universities, Colleges and the educational institutions of the country supported this holy work. The Blood Banks and doctors of the country under the able guidance of NACO ensured and made all arrangements for the very purpose. Various other social organisations are supporting us," said Mr. Khater. With the help of people from various walks of life and at all fronts, the drive has brought a social revolution and created an unforgettable history written with golden pen.

To organise the Mega Event, a Control Room was set up in Surat and the Chief Coordinator, Mr. Rajesh Surana and team worked day and night since last four months to manage the Nationwide Network.

The various objectives, such as Creating awareness about need of Blood Donation, Eradicating the various Myths of Blood Donation among the people, Promoting positive attitude in people to support the Society, Encouraging People to donate regularly and frequently, to Create a Data Bank of Voluntary Donors have been accomplished or will be accomplished with the passage of time. The figure of 97313 units itself suggests the accomplishment of some of the objectives. The objectives would be fulfilled when India becomes the first nation in the World to suffice all its Blood demand through Voluntary Donation and the Equation of Demand and Supply of Blood reaches the Break Even. This drive will make India proud in the world.

In view of the mass attached to this drive, the usefulness and advantages of Eye Donation, Body Donation and De-Addiction Drive was also propagated. Several people pledged for Eye Donation, Body Donation and De-addiction. This again would help in fulfilling the vision of a Healthy Society and a Developed Nation.

Mr.Ajay Makan inaugurated the Camp at Lajpatnagar, Delhi, Mr. Pradeep Jain, Min. of State for Rural Dev. Inaugurated the Camp at Faridabad and the Mr. Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan inaugurated the Camp at Jaipur and such many camps were presided by the eminent leaders, beaurocrats, dignitaries, etc. to boost the morale of already enthusiastic Blood Donors and the first time Donors.

The Drive has once again proved that Indians stand together in times of need irrespective of Cast and Creed and the coming up of Gurus and Acharyas of various Religions, whether Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Jains, etc. together under one roof of Service to Humanity have demolished all the walls to impart strength and integrity to the Nation.

Sanjay Khater thanked to all the persons associated with this Drive and helping us bring our vision of a Healthy Society and a Developed Nation to a Reality.

Sanjay Khater,
President
