Acharya Tulsi - A Peacemaker Par Excellence: 8 ►Postscript

Published: 01.06.2013

Acharya Tulsi is now 74 years old and yet we discover no signs of ageing in him. He is active and energetic and walks briskly. His daily routine is packed with activities. One can see him seated on an elevated plank every morning in the pandal (a specially erected hall) delivering a discourse before a solemn assembly of people belonging to all walks of life who flock to listen to his message of peace and love wherever he goes. He meets various groups of his disciples and solves their problems. He hardly has time to be by himself even for an hour. - Despite his being surrounded by people all the day long what astonishes us is that he always finds time to edit the Jain Agamas and write creatively. He never stays at a place permanently and always keeps marching barefoot. His disciples are making vigourous preparations to organise another historic ceremony marking the completion of 75 years of his life. He completed 51 years of his Acharyaship only in Sept. 87. Speaking on this occasion he said that he is a dreamer. Almost all his dreams have been realized. He, however, elucidated some dreams he has yet to realize. He said that he has a dream to see at least two monks or nuns of his order rise to the height of scholarship Yuvacharyaji has achieved. Another dream that he wants to accomplish is to prepare five Jain scholars of international repute. One of the greatest dreams Acharya Tulsi has is his desire to see the world free from violence and hatred. Let us hope Acharya Tulsi's dreams will take shape one day.
