The milestone stands at its place.
It does not reach the destination.
It keeps giving information that the destination is still further off.
You move and the destination will come closer.

If you keep standing however, you will never be able to reach the destination.

Movement and rest, both are relative.
One can not understand movement without rest or rest without movement.
But to move from one place to another movement is necessary and the milestone is necessary to tell us how far we have progressed.
