One incident, many thoughts.
Which of the thoughts to accept and which to reject?

Every man gives credibility to his thinking.
He does not give the same credibility to another man's thoughts.

The problem of the man standing on the shore: under which tree's shade should I sit in he forest of thoughts?

If there were only thoughts then man would never be able to surmount problems.
Wisdom is an invaluable gift to man because of which he is able to discriminate.

By using his discrimination he examines his thoughts and accepts the most powerful one.
