Today, the control over resources rests basically with the nations possessing them. If oil is produced in the Arab countries, they have the control over it. If several of the minerals are located in America, then the control over them is of America. The role of the United Nations so far has been limited mainly to maintaining peace and harmony. If an organization like the United Nations were encouraged to perform the role of the formulation of world economic policy, it would discharge that function and gain control over the world's resources. That would resolve many problems of the day.
