Second Net Meeting of the members of Jainterapanth Group

The Second Net Meeting of jainterapanth group was held from 9.00 PM to 11.00 PM IST on 6th March, 2004 as scheduled. Before convening the meeting a poll was taken and as per the majority decision the time and date was fixed and notice of meeting was sent to all the members and again a reminder was issued.

The meeting was started exactly as per schedule. Members from Germany, USA, UAE, Japan, Nepal, Kolkata, Mumbai, Surat, Chennai, Delhi and other places participated.

The net meeting started with reading of Namaskar Mahamantra by Shri Sudhanshu Jain, Mumbai which was reproduced in Hindi by Shri S M Jain, Surat. (Hindi Fonts were allowed to be downloaded by the members from www.jainsahitya.com/font/hindi.zip).

Shri Sudhanshu Jain asked for introduction of the members. Members present gave their introduction one by one.

Incidentally it was the occasion of the festival of Holi. The message of Happy Holi given by Aparigraha and Karuna Jain of Germany Origin from Berlin was a strange matter. Nobody could imagine that they are German people of origin and who are new to them think that they are Indians living in Germany. When asked whether Holi is celebrated in Germany, they said that though Holi not celebrated there yet they were happy on the day. The members wished Holi to each other. The members were enthusiastic to attend the meeting.

The agenda of the meeting was put before the meeting which was as under:

1. To consider the ways for increasing the number of members of the group
2. To popularized the noble site of Jain literature www.jainsahitya.com
3. To consider for forming working committee of the group for better administration
4. Any other common matter brought by the members

The points were discussed one by one.

Shri S M Jain made known that the number of members of the group yet could not exceed 600. Shri RK Bengani, UAE said that this is a good number of members in the short span of time and that joint efforts will be made by the members to contact their friends to join the group. Almost every member assured to help in the matter.
It is, therefore, requested that each member will communicate his/her friends about the group and try to add at least one member by his effort.

Suggestions were also given to popularize the website jainsahitya.com in the similar manner and there were also technical suggestion for improving the quality of the website. It was also said that sponsorship will also come automatically soon as the site becomes popular. Shri Benganiji also gave suggestion to start chintan in www.jainsahitya.com.
Pragya Prashnamala Quiz is being organized on www.terapanthsurat.com. all member were satisfied with quiz and suggested that such quiz should also be started at the www.jainsahitya.com.

The matter of forming working committee was also welcome. Shri R K Bengani, UAE may be most helpful in the matter, Shri Shusil Choraria suggested. It was decided that working committee be formed covering members from different parts of the world.

Apart from above the members RK Bengani, gave information of the activities of Jainism in their area, UAE and gave very important suggestions. The matter of Acharya Bikshu Nirman Shatabdi celeberation was also discussed. The current year is the Acharya Bikshu Nirman Shatabdi year and the members should make programme to celeberate the same in their area at least on Shukla Teras or on some other convenient day every month.

Discussion about jvbs was also made how jvb course can be spread abroad. Many jains living in foreing countries want to join university by way of correspondence course.

Shri Saurabh Jain, Jaipur also put important suggestions that Jains should not eat in the night. He also advised to give www name to the group as shortcut. Shri BC Jain, Delhi suggested that the Sabha Bhavans should be utilized more for the religious activities rather than social and economic. There was also suggestion that Terapanth has become representative of Jainism so we should talk more about Jainism and entire humanity. The members welcomed the introduction of the website www.jainsahitya.com and assured full co-operation.

Shri Sushil Bafana, Shri Malchand Bhansali as well as Shri Sushil Choraria (relative of Acharya Shri Mahapragya), Kolkata took part very actively and gave very important information and suggestions to the members. It was informed that santhara of Shri Champalalji Singhi (relative of muni shri dhananjay kumarji) was completed in Kolkata. All members wished for better spiritual progress of his soul. Shri Malchand Bhansali also appealed the members to celeberate Holi of colours with Leshya Dhyan as suggested by Sadhvi Shri Kanchan Prabhaji

Group Members desired sannidhya of samaniji in the Net meetings. Nagendra from Nepal Vinay K Jain from Japan and Kusum Jain from Dubai, Nirmala Sutaria from Mumbai, Sunita Solanki from Chennai and Sachin Jain also attended the meeting.

The meeting concluded with Mangal Path and members did not left the room till the Mangal Path and Vighan Haran were completed. The conclusion of the meeting was that there was not a large number but the outcome was most productive. The members who joined the meeting enjoyed every moment.

Few members could not attend the meeting due to pre occupations for which they regretted by sending emails and assured to join the next net meeting

It was decided to continue holding net meeting every First Saturday of the month. The Third Net Meeting of Jain Terapanth Group will be held on the first Saturday of April i.e. on 3rd April, 2004. Incidentally that is the day of Mahavira Jayanti. Members should note down in their schedule of task in advance so that they may not miss the great opportunity to pay homage to Lord Mahavira.
