Temple reopening plan

Jai Jinendra Society Members

Hope everyone is in good Saata.

As announced earlier, for safety reasons, we will be doing a gradual re-opening of our Temple. With that and with your cooperation, we are adding to our re-opening plan. During the Ayambil Oli, starting Monday 19-Oct-20 till Sunday 01-Nov-2020, our Temple will be open on every morning and evening.

Morning hours: 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Evening hours: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

We will continue to watch and take decisions for post Ayambil Oli. For safety reasons, we have to continue to follow the protocols and regulations when visiting the Temple. We started with a volunteer from committee members and have lately observed that members are following the process in place when visiting the Temple. With that, we are extending the volunteering to society members. Please use the following link if you are interested in signing up for volunteering:

There may be days when we do not have a volunteer at the front desk. For your own safety and safety for others, anyone visiting the Temple is required to follow the process detailed below:

  1. Enter through the Entry door and exit through the Exit door to avoid crossing paths
  2. Sign the waiver form, one per family, for every visit. This waiver form helps in contact tracing.
  3. Use the shoe rack
  4. It is MANDATORY to cover your mouth and nose with cloth face cover/ mask while inside the Temple at all times
  5. Avoid close contact and maintain at least 6 feet distance with others. The social distancing markers are placed around the Prayer Hall.
  6. No socializing in temple or in parking lot.
  7. Please limit the number of people inside the prayer hall to 20. You may have to wait outside the prayer hall for others to come out.
  8. Please limit the time inside the prayer hall to maximum of 15 min so that others are not waiting outside.
  9. Members to do walk through darshan ONLY and are NOT permitted to do Abhishek or touch any Bhagwanji, Arti Thali, Ghantaji, chair or any common pooja material.
  10. Members are not permitted to cross the taped-out areas.
  11. Basement, Kitchen remain closed and changing clothes in temple is NOT permitted.
  12. Monitor your health. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and DONOT come to the Temple.

With everyone’s safety in mind, members will be required to practice and comply with the State restrictions, CDC guidelines, and the suggested safety measures. If there is any violation, the Committees may have to reconsider the Temple reopening policies.

Once again, Thank you all for your support, encouragement and patience during these trying times. Anumodana to you all. If we have hurt anyone’s feelings, knowingly or unknowingly, MICCHAMI DUKHADAM.

Pranam.

JOY Newsletter

Jai Jinendra Society Members,

Despite the recent circumstances, JOY has had a great summer this year, we adapted to unfortunate situations by improvising new and unique events that can be done virtually. We have done our best to maintain the JOY events and their charm while shifting to a virtual platform. We have had success in JOY events regardless of the unfortunate circumstances we find ourselves in.

In May, JOY planned a social gathering for Mother’s Day. We organized a video call where JOY members, mothers, and seniors could talk and play games. We played various games with the seniors and the JOY kids. All that joined had fun celebrating their mothers with JOY, and the event was very successful.

In June, JOY organized the JOY virtual musical concert, in which JOY members could submit their performances to be streamed live to all JSGD members or any who wished to watch. Viewers could donate during the stream to the temple. The event was a great success and we raised ten thousand dollars. The concert helped bring the temple together and brought a community sense to all participants and viewers.

In August, JOY had its annual registration. Also in August, we had elections for the 2020-2021 JOY board. Our new board includes President Vandan Shah, Vice President Ruhin Shah, Treasurer Krishi Shah, Community Service Director Bhaaniu Jain, Publications Officer Aryan Shah, Media Manager Adiva Jain, and Public Relations Priya Shah, we are very excited to work with our advisors Ketan Shah, Megha Shah, and Richa Jain. We hope to find more creative ways to continue with JOY events despite unforeseen circumstances.

In September, JOY held our annual General Body meeting. We introduced our new members to existing JOY members and kick-started the year. We presented our Schedule for the year and established procedures in JOY. After that, we played games to get to know one another and bond with other JOY members. JOY has big plans for the year with a fresh new board.

Also in September, JOY held our annual Teachers Day event. In which JOY members teach the Study Classes instead of their designated teachers. JOY wants to recognize the teachers and the positive effect they have on every student’s life. Teachers are paramount to training the Jain Youth to become great people, and JOY took this opportunity to recognize the teachers for all they do for the Jain youth. JOY members had fun teaching the younger kids and we found that through teaching we learned a thing or two ourselves.

STAY TUNED FOR UPCOMING EVENTS..........

Please Stay Healthy and Stay Safe.

Thank You,
JOY Board
