Pṛthaktva

1.A conventional terminological nomenclature in Jain theory of number, used to indicate any number between two and nine (2<Pṛthaktva<9).

puhuttasaddo dosu āraddho jāva ṇava labbhaṃti.

pṛthaktvaṃ ca samayaparibhāṣayā dviprabhṛtyānavabhyaḥ sarvatra draṣṭavyam.

2.Separateness- A characteristic of Paryāya (modes);

the Paryāya which is instrumental in recognition of difference among the compounded objects; e.g.,- "this" is different from "that".

pṛthaktvaṃ-saṃyukteṣu bhedajñānasya kāraṇabhūtaṃ pṛthaktvam, yathā-ayamasmāt pṛthak.
