About

Sanskrit: म्हाविद्या mahāvidyā

In Jainism a group of sixteen godesses of learning, called Mahāvidyās or Vidyādevīs, is worshipped. That group is headed by a Śruta-devī or Sarasvatī which is akin to the Brahmanical concept of the same goddess.
