Jerome Petit is a librarian at the Manuscripts Department of the French National Library, In June 2013, he defended his PhD thesis under the supervision of Professor Nalini Balbir at Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris University on Kundakunda's lineage, focussing especially on Banārasīdās. Based on this work he published a French translation of the Ardhakthānaka, his autobiography.
