About: | The Center for Jaina Studies (CfJS.FU) at Freie Universität Berlin was founded in May 2011. It is administratively positioned at Department of History and Cultural Studies but is situated at South Asian Art History Center of Art History Department. Research and teaching is currently focused on Jaina art, Jaina history and cultural history of Jainism as well as religious studies. CfJS.FU is headed by Patrick Krueger and Monika Zin. In matters of online presence and publication the Center for Jaina Studies cooperates with HereNow4U.net. In addition, CfJS.FU cooperates with the Museum of Asian Art, which is located in the immediate vicinity and preserves an excellent collection of Jaina art. In 2014.10 Jaina Studies at FU Berlin and Museum of Asian Art was finally closed down. The modern parts of Indology moved to HU Berlin. |

- Cooperation with HN4U finished in 2012.12
- In 2014.09 Freie Universität Berlin - due to a contract after the unification of East & West (Berlin) - closed down all departments of studies of Ancient India.
Other parts were moved to Humboldt Universität Berlin, which deals with Modern India. - Center for Jaina Studies moved to Institute of Asian and African Studies (IAAW) of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
