Dear all,
I am glad to inform you that yesterday the 5th April, 2015 I have officially completed 80 years of my life and have entered the 81st year.
As I look back I feel that the wheel of time has turned fast. I feel heartened by the fact that most of the span of my matured life was spent in the rejuvenation of moral and spiritual values and in the international nonviolence campaigns aimed at educating people in environmental and ecologic ethic. I believe that humanity has no option but to switch over to a nonviolent lifestyle for its survival into the third millennium. I wish to continue to spread the light of ahimsa embedded in anuvrat (small vows) till the rest of my life.
My heart bleeds as I daily read in newspapers or see on news channels heart-rending incredible and ghastly incidents of violence in the name of religion. I believe that all religious beliefs are true from their standpoints, all are pathways to godhood or to God. To shed blood in order to prove a religion's supremacy or eliminate all other beliefs is a beastly mentality. If we believe in God and if we believe that God has created this world everything that is on this planet, whether a religious belief or a material object is His gift. How can we humans destroy a thing that God has created? I am of the view that good sense and wisdom will prevail and soon the misguided people will realize the futility of what they are doing. I am sure an era of peace will begin soon and we will all be able to co-exist in peace.
Jai Ahimsa Victory of nonviolence
