Santhara Order - Rajasthan High Court
With Due Regards to all the Constituents of Jain Diaspora Around the World……….The recent decision of Rajasthan High Court questioning the traditional Jain Practice of Santhara / Sallekhana has definitely placed a question mark on our religious freedom.
It’s definitely regrettable to note, “We failed to defend our faith in the Court of Law”. Poor management of a strategic issue like this has resulted into needless embarrassment for all of us. Anyway, the damage has been done. Now it’s the time to recognize the technicalities of the issue (Court Order). It is time to be one and be focused.
Nonetheless, it is not the opportunity for photo sessions with VVIP’s or discourses / WhatsApp etc within the commune. In situation like this, we have to deal with alien forces with humility and grace but with single strong resolution.
My understanding suggests that, “Shortcut Remedy only rests in managing affectively and efficiently Indian Legal System”.
Please format a nationwide “Board” to deal with the subject appropriately. Please don’t leave the issue spread on canvas for one and all. I humbly request Senior Saints to nominate their sect representatives to the proposed Board.
Michhami Dukkadam,
With Deep Regards
Sincerely,
For Ahimsa Foundation
