Mahavir Janam Kalyanak 2016 Program Guidelines

Mahavir Janam Kalyanak 2016 Program Guidelines:

MJK Cultural Program will be celebrated at the Jain Center of Southern California on Sunday, April 24, 2016. We need to make sure that we are ready for a good, entertaining and professional program for that day. Deadline to submit/register for participation is Sunday, January 17th 2016. Registration is open to all Pathshala students byemail only to the contacts below by the deadline.

Groups that wish to perform at the cultural program need to review and follow these guidelines:

          1) No movie songs OR repeat performances of that day or past 3 years.

          2) Minimum # of 5 participants. No Solo items.

          3) A participant can only participate in 1 performance.

          4) Number of plays will be limited to 3 and will be decided after the audition.

          5) If you are planning a skit/drama, be prepared with the following:

          •  Have the complete main idea/synopsis ready at audition.
          •  Discuss your complete draft and stage/AV set-ups, etc. on 1st Rehearsal.
          •  A Mandatory complete practice run with stage props and AV on April 3rd.

          6) Time limit for Dance/Song is 5 minutes and for Skit/Drama is 10 minutes. We highly encourage singing talents.

          7) Submit your song along with your entry, as it is on a first come basis, so it gets locked for your group.

          8) Original song disk will have to be submitted and tested by the Jain Center AV System by first rehearsal. No Pre-recording for skit/vocal.

          9) The order of the items will not be based on age of the children.

          10) Please decide your group lead and submit your entry with the details of Lead Name, phone #, email address and a list of each participant with correct first and last names.

          11) Each and every item will go through a selection process. If for any reason the guidelines are not followed and/or benchmarks not met during any of the dates mentioned below, you will have the option of withdrawing your entry or performing during Paryushan or other events.
