Dear Friends,

The sight of poor people and the homeless suffering without enough food for their nourishment and inadequate clothes to protect themselves from the vagaries of nature is heart-wrenching.

They are hungry, in torn and tattered clothes, braving the hardships of nature, their body, their mind, their very existence crying out for help. Yes, this is a harsh reality that a part of society feel as they lack the basic necessities of food and clothing. We take these necessities for granted; however for them, it is a daily struggle

World Humanitarian Day is celebrated on August 19th each year to recognise the spirit of Humanitarianism and to mobilise people to advocate for a more humane world. This year, World Humanitarian Day revolved around the theme of ‘One Humanity’ and our shared global responsibility to take action for the millions in need of humanitarian assistance around the world.

To celebrate the 50 Years of Pujya Gurudevshri, founder of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur - Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, under its Humanitarian Care programme, launches a 30-day worldwide campaign, the ‘Power of One’!

Under this campaign, we ask everyone to simply donate one pair of clothing and one vegetarian non-perishable packaged item of food such as rice, pasta, teabags or sealed & tinned items. This may seem an insignificant quantity to us but it will all add up, not just in numbers, but in filling hearts with love, respect and joy!
All the items collected in London will be split amongst the Homeless Action in Barnet and the Refugees in Syria. The Homeless Action in Barnet works with vulnerable people to help them gain access to housing, health care and other necessities. We are all aware of the dire situation in Syria that is impacting the world all over. The footage and pictures from Syria speak a thousand words to every heart and it is our shared global responsibility to take action for the million in need.
How can you participate?

Option One:

As a fellow Jain organisation, we invite you to host a ‘Power of One’ Box at your centre starting fro this auspicious week of Paryushan. We request you place a collection box at your centre and spread the word amongst your members to contribute to this campaign. Once all the donations are collected from members of your community, we can arrange pick-ups mid-September at your respective centres before sorting the collection and handing them over to the charities.

Please click below to confirm your participation to host a 'Power of One' Box at your centre. Once we have your details, we can send you a ready emailer which can be circulated around to your members.

We would be grateful if you could spread information about this campaign amongst your community and request them to join. If you would like to receive the details to circulate, please click below and we will send them over.
