- Controlling the voluntary movements of the body- to undertake the activities like lying down, sitting, standing, walking etc. inconformity with the manner prescribed in the Āgamas (canonical works).
- To refrain from evil activities.
- To practise total Kāyotsarga (2) (austerity qua abandonment of body)- To inhibit all activities- whether righteous or unrighteous (for specific period of time).
