Caturdaśapūrvī

The ascetic (Muni) who has knowledge of the entire fourteen Pūrvas (canonical texts of earlier lore), which is a treasure of distinguished knowledge. There are two types of Caturdaśapūrvī-
  1. Bhinnāksara Caturdaśapūrvī (Srutakevalī) and
  2. Abhinnāksara Caturdaśapūrvī.
.........coddassa puvvāim ahijjai.

........caturdaśapūrvadharah, sa ca dvividhah-bhin- nāksaro'bhinnāksaraśca, te ca yasyaikekama- ksaratn śrutajnāna-gamyaparyāyaih, sat kārikā- bhedena bhinnam vitimiratāmitam sa bhinnāksa- rah, tasya ca śrutajnānasamśayāpagamāt pra- śnābhāvastataścāhārakalabdhitāmapinaivopa- jīvati vinālambanena, sa eva śrutakevalī bhanya- te, śesah karotyakrtsnaśrutajnānalābhādavīta- rāgatvācca.
