The Jīva (souls) occupying the ākāśapradeśa (space-units) in discontinuity with the space under consideration.

vivakṣitapradeśāpekṣayā anantarapredeśeṣvavagāḍhā-avasthitā anantarāvagāḍhaḥ etadvilakṣaṇāḥ paramparāvagāḍhāḥ ayaṃ kṣetrato bhedaḥ.
