Pariṣad

1. A member of the council of Indra (the king of the gods).

2. The family (or relation) of the Śramaṇopāsaka (the lay follower of the Sramaṇas);

for instance, mother, father and the like are internal Pariṣad, slave, maid-slave, friends etc. are external Pariṣad.

pariṣadḥ-parivāraviśeṣāḥ, yathā-mātāpitṛputrādikā abhyantaraparisad, dāsīdāsamitrādikā bāhyapariṣaditi.
