There is not just one type of spiritual practice.
As there are many forms of attainment, so are many forms of spiritual practices.
The first type of attainment is the attainment of knowledge.
Reading alone does not bring knowledge.
Along with it one has to develop an evolved consciousness.
The essence of knowledge is conduct.
When a person's conduct inspires faith, then his attainment of knowledge becomes a spiritual practice.
That conduct, which does not inspire faith and does not develop the character of the person, can be without hesitation, termed as ignorance.
