Mr Bajrang Jain is a Strategic Management Consultant based in Banglore, India. His qualifications include an MSc in Pure Mathematics, an MBA and an MSc in the Science of Living. He has been involved in social and charitable work for many years. As a “hobby” he lectures students at universities and organises seminars on Time and Stress Management. Recently he has also been involved in the training of Samanijis.

Jain Vishva Bharati London was therefore honoured by the visit of Mr Bajrang Jain. On a sunny Sunday morning on the first day of April, Mr Jain conducted a workshop on Vision and Values at the JVB Centre in London.

The workshop focused on how we as individuals can develop good and effective working relationships with our fellow human beings, whether as friends, colleagues, families or even strangers. Mr Jain demonstrated various techniques to reach this level.

Mr Jain addressing the participants

At the onset of the workshop, he instructed his audience to chant aloud knowingly, willingly and smilingly, “This is my life!” nine times and then to softly close their eyes to continue chanting it mentally. The purpose of this exercise is to reach our inner selves, where we come into contact with the cosmic energy, which gives us near infinite power. Eventually we were guided to slowly open our eyes. One felt completely energised and full of bliss.

Mr Jain then encouraged his audience to analyse their definition of relationship and search within themselves its strength with the people they come into contact. For example, one has a close relationship with a friend but it is not of an intimate nature or that one has a family relationship but it is distant rather than close.

The next step was to evaluate the expectations of different relationships. Mr Jain made the audience repeat the chant, “ This is my life” as demonstrated earlier, but this time before opening our eyes we were advised to focus on the person with whom we want to improve our relationship. He stressed that we must have zero expectation of what we are seeking to achieve and must do it wholeheartedly with good intentions for both parties. In this exercise, I took the opportunity to focus on an individual who has been causing me tensions in my mind. I visualised that person in front of me and then smilingly, willingly and knowingly, I blessed that person from the bottom of my heart and silently said, “ From now onwards you are my friend and I mean you no harm”. I kept repeating that sentence until I was ready to open my eyes. That moment arrived when I felt a distinct feeling of lightness. After opening my eyes, there was a feeling of complete peace of mind, the tension had vanished and nothing negative about the person could surface in my mind. Astonishingly, when I physical saw the person, I felt there were positive vibes between us and this was reflected by very good communication.

From my experience at Mr Jain’s workshop, it can be concluded that cosmic energy is crucial for individual’s growth and development. To tap into this source, we need to reach our inner selves and to achieve that we must do it with purpose, happy and enthusiastic state of mind. Hence the smile! Only then can we convert our noble intentions into reality.

Mr Bajrang Jain conducted another workshop on Good Friday for younger audience using the same principles.
