Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following Summer Schools on Prakrit Language and Literature courses:
1. Prakrit Language & Literature (Elementary) 13.05.2007 - 03.06.2007
2. Prakrit Language & Literature (Advanced)* 13.05.2007 - 03.06.2007
*Subject to the availability of sufficient number of applications.
Eligibility:
- High Second Class in M.A./Acharya in Sanskrit/Prakrit/Pali for Elementary Course.
- The candidates who have already passed Elementary course can participate in Advanced Course.
- Students applying for admission to the course must be able to read and write Devanagari script and must have a good working knowledge of both Hindi and English Languages.
- Preference will be given to fresh M.A./Acharya and Research Scholars/ Teaching faculty members in the above subjects.
- Photocopies of certificates / Degrees, should be enclosed with the application form.
- BLII will inform the selected candidates for these courses. No one can claim for his/her candidature.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION: Hindi / English mixed.
SCHEDULE OF LECTURES: Two sessions of three hours each from 09.30 A.M. to 06.00 P.M.
PERIODICAL TESTS: Respective teachers will conduct topic-wise tests after each 5 lectures by the end of the week. Final tests, including viva-voce, will be held on last Friday and Saturday. However, any change in the schedule of tests without any prior notice, in case of any contingency, will be entirely at the discretion of the Institute.
Facilities offered:
- Free lodging and boarding for the duration of the course.
- Travel: IInd Class Railway Fare or Ordinary Bus Fare by the shortest route, subject to the production of relevant ticket number(s)/cash receipts. In case of local participants, a sum of Rs. 400/- only will be provided for the entire course to meet their local expenses.
- No participant will remain absent from his/her daily lectures, and weekly tests or final test etc; and must obtain a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Participants, who do not fulfill these conditions, will not be eligible to claim IInd class return railway or bus fare, from the Institute back to their native place.
- The Institute will not foot the medical bills of any participant, in case of such need.
Test Certificates: will be awarded to the participants on completion of the course and having passed all the oral and written tests.
