Nathan Katz has studied, taught and conducted research in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Tibet, and Israel, and is generally regarded as the world's foremost authority about Jewish communities in India. His Program focuses both on traditions of spirituality in the world's religions, and on the application of spirituality to the contemporary world in the arts, medicine, law, education, entrepreneurship, international relations - indeed, to all human endeavors. He has won four Fulbright awards, statewide teaching awards, the FIU President's Award for Achievement and Excellence, faculty awards for research and service, and is Kauffman Professor of Global Entrepreneurship at FIU for the 2009/2010 academic year. He is the author of 15 books and hundreds of articles, and is best known locally for bringing the Dalai Lama to FIU, twice.
