The museum is directly followed by the university library of Jain Vishva Bharati Institute, named Vardhaman Granthagar. We went there after morning meditation with Munishree Kishanlal to deepen our knowledge on Jainism by studying relevant books and scriptures.

It has more than 50.000 books and rare collections of authentic scriptures and manuscripts tracing back to 1000 years.

In the entry, this beautiful picture welcomes the thirsty for education.

The atmosphere in the reading room was inspiring for collecting informations. In the reading room, men and women have separate tables, near to the entry, on the left the men’s table was placed, a little bit farer, on the right the women’s.
It was there, where the ‘Times of India’ was our link to the rest of the world.

Books in English language were available in great number on the basement.

Even books in German language were obtainable, encyclopaedias, volumes on the most important trends of western philosophy, translations from Prakrit and Sanskrit by German scholars.

A research centre named 'Anekant Shodhpeeth' is affiliated to the library.

Initiated by JVBI's vice-chancellor, Sudhamahi Regunathan one of the projects is actually to scan the ancient scriptures, to provide digital copies for universities all over the world and to promote scholarly translation from Prakrit or Sanskrit. As vice-chancellor Regunathan put it, JVBI would be glad to receive any scholar interested in this task.

This is one sample of the exposition JVBI had planned to make their treasures publicly available. The poster was made from the scanned version of the manuscript.

The accurateness of writing, the finesse of painting, and the visionary design is very touching.
