We are looking to organize nationwide movement on 19th May 2011 against the illegal detention of Jain Muni Shri Maitri Prabhsagarji, who was on his fast unto death against licenses to new slaughter houses in Uttar Pradesh. U.P. Govt disruped the movement by hook and crook and ordered the city police to arrest the Honourable Jain Monk on his 17th day of fast unto death at 2 am in deep night at Baraut.
Jain monks never use any vehicle and also do not walk from one location to other in the night but dispite knowing the fact UP police has shown disrespect to code of conduct to Jain Monks and picked him up in their Jeep in the night and sent him to an unkown place. This act of police is wholesome dishonour of Jain Tradition and Jainism at large.
The UP Police has also stopped Munishri Chinmay sagarji who was on his way to meet Munishri Maitri Prabh sagarji.
U.P. Govt and U.P. Police has to apologize publicly for their misdeed. To achieve this, we would need support from every corner of nation.
There would be a big rally at Delhi on 19th May 2011. You could do following activities at your places on this same day:
- Organize rallies and gather maximum participation and approach collector/DM/SP and submit them protest letter with maximum signatures. (Please find the protest letter attached herewith, click: http://ahimsasangh.net/wp/?p=1706)
- Close your shops/factories/offices for 2-3 hrs to show protest and suppport for the movement.
- Publish your protest activity in local newspaper and news channel; please let us know about your efforts @ .
- Flood the email of CM of Uttar Pradesh: with protest letters/emails.
Let us make it very clear that we shall not take disregard of our Munis lightly. UP Govt. and UP Police has to make a public apology for the misdeed they have done.
