This facade attracted our attention, rather well maintained at first look, but more or less uninhabitated, marked by the attempt not to abandon it to deterioration.
To our great surprise all ornaments were cut of stone and no woodcarving.
The combination of different materials with peeled-off colours gave a kind of lonesome charm to the house.
Entering the courtyard we noticed that it was a typical Ladnun town house.
We happily accepted the invitation to visit some rooms upstairs,
and got an overview on the whole complex of buildings, all constructed in a similar way, closely connected to each other.
From inside we could imagine how the building was giving shelter against heat, 50°C possible in summer, and any odds.
While imagining how this may have looked some decades ago, we admired how keeping of goods and storage were integrated.
Ancient built-in cupboards
and breezily balconies were testifying the high standard of living in the past.
We said farewell to our hosts who gave the opportunity to get such a close and friendly glimpse of their life.
