Jai Jiinendra. Here is the perfect opportunity for you to help those less fortunate than we are. You will have heard that East Africa has been experiencing a sustained period of famine and very many lives are lost daily and unnecessarily. In this Olympic Year, here is the perfect opportunity for you to help others, become fit and have an enormous amount of fun in the company of like-minded people of all ages. Veerayatan UK is supporting the Cycling Expedition 2012 which is being run by Food for Life. This is an ongoing charity project dedicated to raising funds to provide the needy with hot meals. The three expeditions have so far raised over Kshs 49,500,000. This year’s expedition will be in Tanzania between April 05-09 and will see each participating cyclist contribute the equivalent of 4 hot meals per day for life to a needy person.
It would be fantastic if cyclists from the UK can, as in the past, contribute significantly to this expedition, foremost by participating but also by generously sponsoring those who may be participating. Further details of the project are set out below and more information can be obtained from the website for the project www.foodforlifecycleforlife.org
As you will need to train to successfully complete this event, it is important to obtain your commitment to the project as soon as possible. Details of the fundraising levels you need to achieve are set out below (though note these are the minimum amounts required to qualify for cycling - you should hopefully all be able to raise much more!)
