October 2nd is the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi as well as the International Day of Non–violence (unanimously adopted by United Nations several years ago).
This year, Claremont Lincoln University, Jain Studies program, International School for Jain Studies, JAINA and Jain Center of Southern California have decided to celebrate together October 2nd, 2012 as Ahimsa and Forgiveness Day which also happens to be immediately after Paryushan and Das Laxan parvas. This is a unique and historic event.
We are attaching a poster flier for your information.
May we request Jain Centers and Jains throughout the world to plan some similar celebrations (to suit your local circumstances and environment)?
